What happens here

This is a residential centre — the person stays here rather than collecting medicines and going home. Leaving drugs behind takes time for both the body and the mind, and the first few weeks need medical supervision.

• Assessment — which substance, for how long, what it has done to the body, and whether any other illness is present
• Detox — managing withdrawal with medication and monitoring
• Counselling — individual and group
• Family counselling — because the home a person returns to makes the biggest difference of all
• Follow-up — we stay in touch after discharge, because that is when the real test begins

Our team

The centre has a psychiatrist, counsellors and nursing staff.

How admission works

We do not say “just send them over” on the phone. Every person’s need is different — some need admission, others do well with OPD care and counselling.

1. Call us — 95093 02114. We will ask what the substance is, how long it has been going on, and how things are right now.
2. Meet the psychiatrist — a consultation with the psychiatrist is required before admission. They will assess whether admission is needed at all.
3. Talk with the family — what to expect, how long it takes, and what the family will need to do.
4. Consent and admission — admission is done with the person’s own consent.

What to bring: the person’s Aadhaar or other ID, ID for one family member, and any prescriptions or reports from previous treatment.

Fees depend on what the person needs — how many days of stay and which medicines are involved. The exact figure is given on the phone: 95093 02114.

The rights of someone who is admitted

Under the Mental Healthcare Act 2017, addiction is also a mental health condition, and a person who is admitted has certain rights. We list them here so that you know them whichever centre you go to:

• An adult cannot be admitted by force — apart from a few specific medical situations, for which the law lays down a separate procedure
• The right to be treated with dignity — beating, restraints or punishment of any kind are not acceptable
• The right to information about their treatment and to see their medical records
• The right to contact family and to make a complaint
• The right to confidentiality
